For years, Mark fought, studied, and prayed. He pushed back against a system that had already decided he was guilty, and he did it with a stubbornness that could only come from a man who genuinely believes God keeps his word.
The conviction was eventually overturned after years of determinination. Mark was un-handcuffed in the back of a courtroom. He walked out of that fight with his name, his freedom, and a story that needed to be told.
In 1988, Mark was convicted of a crime he did not commit.
The charges were devastating. The sentence was forty years. And from the outside, it looked like the end for him, but it wasn't.

Mark missed his daughter's first wedding. Years later, at her second, he was finally there, dancing with her at the reception, present for a moment he thought prison had taken for good. Today, Mark's daughter works alongside him.
He shares it because he knows what it feels like to be in a pit so deep you can't see the top, and to have nothing but faith and sheer will to climb out.
Mark doesn't share his story for applause.
